How Often Should I be Injecting Testosterone Replacement Therapy?

One important factor many clinicians seem to forget when prescribing TRT is the pharmacokinetics of the actual drug.

For Testosterone cypionate, the 1/2 life is 7-8 days.

This means that in 7 days, 1/2 of your last dose will be gone.

So, if you're only injecting 1x every 1-2 weeks, you're going to have issues.

The goal of TRT is stability. We want levels that are consistently maintained on the upper limit of “normal.”

The less frequently you administer TRT, the more hormonal fluctuations and side effects you’re going to have.

In fact, many of the more common side effects of TRT can be avoided by increasing dose frequency and decreasing dose volume.
